I have no idea who to vote for this November. Every week or so, my mind changes and favor moves from one candidate to the other. Each change is not resulted by confidence in one candidate or another, but rather a lack of it in the supported man of the week. It blows my mind how anyone can truly, 100% back one of these candidates.
I know nothing about the Left. He seemed to come out of no where with the instant support of millions of Americans tired of the way in which our nation is currently being ran. And what of those early rumors? Swearing in on a Qur'an, ties with Black Liberation theology, and his outspoken wife quick to criticize the same country her husband currently is a leader of and hopes to become Commander-in-Chief of.
On the other hand, there's the Right - delivering the same speech every time I see him open his mouth. "My fellow Mmricans...", "pork-barrel spending", General David Petraeus, Vietnam, and $3 million spent on the study of bears. This makes me feel like he lacks depth and just supports whatever is popular at the time to gain approved of the minds swing voters.
Now, back to the Qur'an issue. If the person was actually a Muslim, I'd have no quarrel with this, since America is the land of freedom, especially in the area of religious beliefs. However, he claims to be a born-again Christian. And for someone to have chosen such a way of life to pick anything but a Bible to swear upon is a little unsettling. That is unless it is a spiritual crossing of the fingers while making a promise (not an accusation, a joke). And then there is his pastor of 20 years (again, twenty years) who made some disturbing remarks concerning America not too long ago.
But this brings me back to the Right, who's recently (and reluctantly seemingly) admitted to being a Christian after not speaking much of it during his race for Presidency. It is (now) something that he says helped him for most of his life; something that even empowered him when he was being tortured as a prisoner of war in Vietnam. But if it is of such importance to him, why is it only being said now and not earlier?
I know there are other important issues out there, such as: abortion, the economy, the war, homosexual marriage, and most of all for some, I guess, the definition of "rich". (Which reminds me, how do you not know how many houses you have?) However, I will stop here.
I do wish to say though that I am proud of America for reaching the point where a man of color or a woman can potentially run the nation.
I will continue to keep an open mind about this and hopefully be ready come November.

Hello.
I have been thinking of creating a blog.
Since Mike P. has 20+ blogs, I suppose I can make one.
"...more to come as events warrant."
